Ubochi Igbokwe is a doctoral candidate in Musicology at the College of Music, University of Colorado Boulder. She is an instructor and teaching assistant at the College of Music and was a Graduate Fellow at the Center for African and African American Studies (CAAAS) and a Graduate Reader at the American Music Research Center (AMRC). Her research on Igbo and African music and festivals has led to numerous international conference presentations in the United States, New Zealand, Portugal, Thailand, Ireland, and Nigeria, with publications in several journals, including the Yearbook for Traditional Music, the official journal of the International Council for Traditions of Music and Dance (ICTMD). Igbokwe is currently working on her dissertation titled “Igbo Performance Imagery and Multiculturalism in Japan.â€
