My capstone is about how fashion doesn't circulate around trends, it’s about the pieces that always come back. I made a series of magazine spreads showing how styles like the little black dress, Carolyn Bessette’s look, and things like mary janes, loafers, fiddler hats, and big belts never really go out of style.
The whole idea is that the presence of "old" pieces aren't trends, but rather pieces that simply just never go out of style . It's more about wearing pieces that already have meaning and have lasted over time. I also used a more vintage, layered look for the visuals to make it feel older and more timeless. Overall, it’s about using fashion to express yourself in a simple way and standing out by wearing things that will always exist. It may feel "new" but it has always been around just has found its way back in the cycle.Ìý
