Olivia Meyers-Olivia Meyers
Documentary Video 10:00
This documentary examines the recent death of a CU Student, Megan Trussell. I included observational footage filmed around campus, archival material, and an interview with Vanessa Diaz to spread awareness around Megan's case and propose a call to action among students and Boulder's institutions.Ìý

This documentary investigates the death of Megan Trussell, a University of Colorado Boulder student whose death was ruled a suicide. Her family disputes the conclusion of the investigation and has raised concerns that key questions and potential leads were not followed up on.Ìý
Through interviews with Megan's mother, archival footage, audio from public sources, and observational footage filmed throughout Boulder, the film examines unanswered questions around the investigation. It also explores broader themes of justice, inviting viewers to question which stories get told, which are overlooked, and what happens when families are left seeking for answers after being failed by the very institutions meant to protect them.Ìý
The case is currently under review, and the film calls for continued attention and action towards justice.Ìý
This was a mural I found on Pearl Street that had blurbs around it about Indigenous communities from Colorado.Ìý
This is a shot of the Justice Center, I went to film the main sign but just took this for b-roll.Ìý
I went to the CNAIS to see if I could talk to someone there but the building is usually closed. I plan to use this in a longer version of my documentary.
Filming b-roll on campus.Ìý
I did not mean to take this picture but I wanted to get more footage of campus police or Boulder police and include it in my film.Ìý
