Last weekÌýthe Volunteer Resource Center (VRC), with the support of 13 student and staff volunteers, hosted a mobile food pantry that distributed over 8,000 pounds of food (provided by ) in just 2 hours. It is an important reminder that food insecurity is a very real issue facing the CU Boulder community, with a reporting approximately 41% of college students struggle to obtain nutritionally adequate and safe food at some point in their academic career. For staff and faculty, this can also be a struggle.
The VRC will be hosting another free mobile food pantry on Thursday, April 21st, 2022 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. CU Boulder staff, faculty, students and community members of Boulder and Broomfield counties are invited to attend.
Attendees will receive up to 30 pounds of food, including dairy, meat and fresh produce, and are encouraged to bring reusable bags as a way to carry food easily. Food will be on a first-come, first-served basis.Ìý
While drive-through will not be available at this pantry, free parking will be available at the . There will be a volunteer at the entrance of the garage to provide you with instructions.Ìý
