Program Requirements
The Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) is a terminal degree for those seeking a technical or research career in Chemistry. It requires completion ofÌý30 course credit hoursÌýplus 30 hours of dissertation (60 credit hours in total), passing preliminary and comprehensive examinations, and a successful dissertation defense.ÌýPlease consult the Graduate Handbook for more details.
Â鶹ÒùÔº are also expected to meet the requirements of the Graduate School and to make steady progress towards their Ph.D. degree. Â鶹ÒùÔº should consult the Graduate Program ManagerÌýfor clarification of these rules or their status. Other academic matters are resolved by the Graduate Scholastic Committee.
