Dialogues

BFI Dialogues is a partnership between our organization and the CU Dialogues Program aimed at advancing equity, learning, and action through the practice of dialogue.

Dialogues offers specialized dialogue facilitation training for staff at all levels of the organization, engages dialogue as a practice for identifying action centered on inclusion and equity, and integrates dialogic strategies and approaches for collectively advancing a more intersectionally equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace for everyone.Ìý

Ways to Participate

The program curriculum for training new Dialogue leads focuses on dialogue facilitation and advancing staff learning about diversity, inclusion and equity in order to move the organization toward implementing action that is tangible, systemic, and intersectional.

Dialogue Facilitator Training

Dialogues Facilitator Training program:

Interpersonal dialogue skills support so many aspects of our work in BFI, and advancing intersectional equity is imperative if we are truly to become a more diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace. Those selected to participate in the training program will gain the confidence and ability to create inclusive spaces for meaningful conversations, navigate difficult and often uncomfortable topics, and promote understanding and collaboration.Ìý Ìý

Commitments:

  • Complete seven (7) two-hour virtual training sessions
  • Support facilitation of Dialogue events
  • Read and reflect on provided articles and other materials
  • Center inclusion, equity and diversity in the practice of dialogue

Equity Plan Assessment and Support (EPAS) team

Members of the EPAS team work together and on small, 3-4 person subgroups to assist the organization in implementing our People-Centered Equity Plan and assessing outcomes. Using a dialogic approach, the EPAS team will:ÌýÌý

Ìý

Function as a unifying and coordinating support system across our organization, bringing awareness and alignment to units and BFI Leadership via two-way feedback loops.

Ìý

Meet monthly as a whole team and expect to meet regularly with BFI Units and BFI Leadership (exact cadence TBD) with a one-year minimum commitment.

Ìý

Include participation in EPAS as a leadership and/or inclusive excellence goal in performance plans.Ìý
