PBHL 4142 Course Manual

To complete an internship capstone within Public Health, you first need to meet these criteria:

• Be in good academic standing and have completed sufficient coursework as outlined in the PBHL course of study.
• Have an overall GPA of 2.0 or better, a C- or better in all major courses
• Have a C or better in all major courses.
• Have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 in Public Health required courses.
• Have declared the Public Health major prior to enrolling in the internship capstone.

Before deciding whether to enroll in an internship capstone, please familiarize yourself with the course requirements and learning objectives:

• This is a 3-credit course requiring 120 internship hours to be completed over the course of one semester.
• �鶹��Ժ should begin their internship search at least one semester prior to enrollment.
• �鶹��Ժ are required to attend a mandatory capstone orientation the semester prior to enrollment.
• �鶹��Ժ will need to complete all pre-internship tasks, including securing an internship site, and setting learning objectives.
• �鶹��Ժ must successfully complete their capstone project and submit all required documents (e.g., time logs, forms) on time.
• �鶹��Ժ must submit a mid-point and final report explaining how their project met their goals and enhanced their understanding of public health.
• �鶹��Ժ must present their internship experience through participation in the CU Boulder Public Health Symposium (11/20/2025).

�鶹��Ժ completing an internship capstone in Public Health must enroll in PBHL 4142: Capstone in Public Health: Internship in the semester in which they will complete their internship hours. Previous internship work cannot be counted retroactively for capstone credit. Internships can be paid or unpaid.
